Account Manager
Overview
This 20-hour a week, senior-level contract position works with volunteers and board members in non-profit associations to facilitate the management of the day-to-day activities of client organizations and coordinates their annual educational conferences. This position works with multiple clients and different client cultures, schedules and strategic goals, and work involves overseeing client relationships, ensuring that their needs are met, facilitating effective communication between clients and our team, managing client accounts, advising non-profit boards on the strategic planning and management of their organization (volunteers and membership), planning a few conferences from start through evaluation, preparing reports, and coordinating with various departments to deliver exceptional service. The ideal candidate will have non-profit management experience, meeting planning experience, strong organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and an understanding of the need to consistently meet or exceed deadlines.
Administrative Management Duties: The account manager will make sure all projects stay on schedule while managing expectations of the agreed scope of work. They will perform other integral internal functions to ensure delivery of the highest quality conferences and consistently excellent customer experience. They will have excellent time management skills, meet strict deadlines, have keen attention to detail, demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, and can manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Conference Management Duties: The account manager is responsible for all aspects of conference planning from inception to completion and will act as a true business partner with clients. This role will manage production for multiple event cycles, including AV/production sourcing, F&B planning, event management technology, attendee registration and management, speaker management (not speaker solicitation), sponsor management (not sponsor solicitation), onsite event support, pre/post event evaluations, interaction with our marketing staff, interaction with clients to support continuing education requirements, as well as program budget management and reconciliation.
The ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, demonstrating effective independent work, attention to detail, and initiative. This is a part-time independent contractor role, collaborating with the clients and our management team.
Candidates must be able to travel to 4-6 domestic events per year. Three-four virtual client meetings per month are after hours to accommodate the schedules of the volunteers.
