Overview

Position Summary:
This position will focus on closing out the books in QBO for multiple clients. Also establishing monthly close processes, documenting these processes by video and written reports and train team members on how to follow these processes. Other duties include reviewing team members’ monthly close work, interacting with clients by phone, email, and video calls, and problem-solving accounting and QuickBooks issues in a timely manner as they arise.

 

 

 

Senior Accountant Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

●       Close out monthly books using QBO

 

●       Review the Client’s books and document the close process.

 

○          Documentation by preparing written documents and videos using GAAP accounting best practices and online tools for efficiency.

●       Training staff on the Monthly Close Process

 

●       Perform monthly close tasks for multiple clients.

 

○          Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.

●       Review staff’s monthly close work before sending it to the client.

 

●       Communicate in Slack, by phone, or by video meeting on client open items to resolve issues.

●       Ability to resolve complex accounting and QuickBooks issues in a timely manner.

 

●       Communicate with the clients’ CPAs on tax issues that come up during the year.

 

●       Be proactive, be a resource, and train other team members on GAAP accounting best practices and QuickBooks issues when they arise.

●       Schedule and train new team members regarding company processes and procedures including being a resource to assist new team members in delivering accurate deliverables to clients.

●       Analyze and review financials in a monthly video meeting with clients.

 

●       Answer emails and phone calls from clients who have questions about their accounting and/or reports.

●       Check email and Slack regularly and fill requests for reports or information during the day as needed. Respond timely to urgent requests.

●       Be proactive in offering our tech stack of apps that can help with the back-office efficiency of our clients and recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.

●       Meet with the manager on a weekly basis by video call. Report deliverables status on client deadlines, work tasks, and scope creep issues.

●       Prepare sales tax returns and submit them online for clients with their approval.

 

●       Prepare 1099s for clients at year-end.

 

●       Any other duties assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:
Skills:
●       Excellent oral and written communication skills

●       Strong mathematical and analytical skills

●       Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

●       Great attention to detail

●       Problem-solving and conflict-management skills.

●       Knowledge of Intuit Accounting Software and other financial software

●       Strong knowledge of Financial Analysis

●       Desire to work as a team with a result-driven approach.

●       Excellent judgment and critical thinking skills

 

Experience:
●       CPA or Accounting Firm Experience

●       5+ Years in an accounting position, reviewing financials, and training staff.

●       5+ Years of QuickBooks Online job experience and other financial software.

 

Education:
●       Bachelor’s Degree, accounting, business, or related certification

●       QuickBooks Online Certified

 

Technical Skills:
●       QBO, QB Desktop, NetSuite, Microsoft

Work Environment
●                    · This position is a remote, virtual position requiring

○          Adequate space to work at a computer.

○          WI-FI connection

○          Ability to communicate via phone and virtual web meetings.

 

 

 

Work Hours/Schedule
The work schedule is 8 am – 5 pm Central Standard Time. Arrangements can be made outside of this schedule to account for different time zones if needed but the candidate must be available during central time hours.
