Overview

We’re looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join our team part-time (10-15 hours/week to start). This is a 100% remote position, ideal for any numbers-nerd with excellent organization and self-management skills. Our clients are small businesses, mostly women-owned and -operated, for whom we provide accurate, timely financials and ongoing support toward success on their terms.

Specific responsibilities

  • Monthly Bookkeeping for portfolio of Clients, including:
    • Strategic communications with Clients as needed for any statements or other info we need to complete work;
    • Reconciliation of bank, credit card, loan accounts;
    • Updates in Quickbooks Online, regular quality control steps as part of our standard workflow;
    • Generating monthly reports, including analysis and recommendations.
  • Assisting with forensic bookkeeping for project Clients, as needed;
  • Communicating with teammates and Clients, always with the goal of getting timely, meaningful financials out to our Clients.

The first three months for this position will include a lot of training in our specific workflow, and a gradual expansion of tasks and responsibilities matching aptitude and interests of the bookkeeper herself. We are a learning organization, constantly improving how we work and our work product to Clients. We look forward to welcoming a new member to the team!

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years professional bookkeeping experience, degree in Accounting or Business helpful but not at all required; Quickbooks Online Level 1 certification; extensive experience in QBO. Experience in Karbon, Google suite, Quickbooks Time/Workforce, Gusto, Avalara 1099/W9, Slack; Experience working successfully as part of a remote team; Excellent time- and project-management abilities; Must love solving problems, since that's such an integral part of the work!
